This will stabilize the candle, protect the container from melted wax, ease cleanup and increase safety.

Kind Wick and Candle Care:
Burn ONLY in a non-flammable container (glass, pottery, rock work well)
Ensure the Candle is flat and balanced (setting in Epsom salt or sand can help)
Keep wick trimmed to 1 to 1.5 cm
Cut off any lump (carbon cap or mushroom cap) that develops on the wick. We attempt to match the candle with the appropriate sized wick, but this may still occur during long burn times.
Fold in wax edges of candle after burning to create a flat top. This will avoid "chimney" or "tunnel" effect and prolong candle life.
To extinguish, DIP the burning flame in wax, or use a snuffer, rather than blowing.
If burning for a long time, may need to extinguish, trim wick, fold edges and re-light.
Yeah, that's a lot of things.
